Kenneth's paintings are relatively self-explanatory. They are rooted in the tradition of Western Figurative Painting. The imagery is representational with some abstract qualities. He predominantly uses oil on canvas. Kenneth is interested in depicting the experience of making a drawing or a painting of the subject, and therefore works from observation. This involves a relationship between the motif, the materials used and himself. Narrative also plays a part in the composition and he finds this works most effectively when allowed to be somewhat ambiguous.
